On July 6th, we hosted Build Night: LDN, our first live build event in London. The premise was simple: bring people together, give them Viso Now, and see what they could build in one evening. There were no unnecessary slides and no lengthy product tours, just people, laptops, and video.
By the end of the night, attendees who had never touched a computer vision platform before had working applications running on their own footage. That was the point of the event, and it worked.
What Happened on the Night
Attendees received a short introduction to Viso Now, the world’s first Visual General Intelligence (VGI) platform. Then the room got to work. The centrepiece of the evening was a 60-minute build session where every attendee created a viable application with Viso Now, from uploading video to prompting it and getting results back.
The format rewarded doing over watching. Within minutes, screens around the room were filling up with detections, queries, and results. People leaned over each other’s laptops, and ideas travelled from table to table. The energy in the room shifted from curiosity to focus very quickly.
We closed the night with prizes for the three most innovative use cases. Each one started as an idea earlier that evening and ended as a working application.

Third Place: Exercise and Nutrition Coach
Gabriel Almeida, Sergio Hernandez Ramos, and Fernando Sanchez built a vision agent that analyses exercise footage and turns it into personalised workout recommendations and nutrition guidance. Users upload a training session and receive coaching back, which works like having a fitness professional inside their video library.
Second Place: Street Condition Classifier
El Mehdi Rachidi and Basil Bennett Batov built an application that identifies road and pavement conditions from images, giving local boroughs a faster way to prioritise maintenance. The result is a build with an immediate public benefit: fewer potholes left waiting, and safer streets for drivers and pedestrians alike.
First Place: Emergency Arrival Severity Monitor
The winning build came from Taha Ghafoor, Lachin Naghashyar, and Jihan Khadijah, who created a vision agent that analyses CCTV footage from emergency room arrivals to assess patient severity and help clinical teams prioritise care. In an environment where minutes matter, surfacing the most urgent cases faster is a genuinely valuable idea, and the judges agreed.
How People Felt
The most common reaction of the night was surprise at how quickly things worked. Many attendees expected computer vision to require models, training data, and engineering time. Instead, they uploaded footage, wrote a prompt, and watched results come back.
For some, the moment that landed hardest was seeing their own use case take shape. An idea that had been sitting in the back of their mind, one they had assumed would need a project team and a budget, was suddenly running on their laptop before the evening wrapped up.
Conversations continued well after the build session ended. People compared applications, swapped prompts, and talked through what they would build next. That is the kind of ending you want from a live event.
Why It Worked
Building beats pitching. We could have spent the evening presenting, but attendees spent it building instead. A working application you made yourself is more convincing than any demo we could have shown.
Viso Now removes the barrier to entry. Because Viso Now works on uploaded video and requires no code, the gap between arriving and building was minutes rather than hours. Everyone in the room could participate fully, regardless of technical background.
The 60-minute constraint focused everyone. A tight window forced clear thinking. Attendees picked one use case, built it, and refined it, and nobody got lost in scope.
Real use cases and real footage made it matter. The applications built on the night reflected genuine problems attendees deal with in their work. That made the results meaningful rather than hypothetical.

Build Night: LDN will not be the last event of its kind. We are planning future build events, and the format will stay the same: hands-on keyboards, real applications, one evening.
