Reflections on culture and values at viso from a recent joiner
Reflecting on my first, fast-paced, and exciting weeks since joining viso, I am reminded of the quote that “organizational culture is defined by its leaders”. Our culture is reminiscent of the concepts of “Teamship” pioneered by Rugby World Cup-winning coach, Sir Clive Woodward.
Beyond “Teamship” lies “Followship”
But what’s different at viso is that it goes beyond that framework. Here, there is what I would describe as a “Followship” culture and values set that I’m thrilled to already be a part of.
No matter how early in their career they may be, or how recently they have joined, the philosophy is that leadership is open and available to each and every one of us. It’s not just on offer and accepted, it’s welcomed and actively encouraged.
Whether in terms of product, platform, or professionalism, at viso, whoever is best placed to lead in any moment, in any area, has the freedom – and crucially the support – to plough ahead, whilst encouraging others to follow and ultimately lead.
